INTRODUCTION TO CUSTOM CODING
Custom coding can be used to alter backgrounds, fonts, colors or to add third-party widgets or customizations outside the scope of the Squarespace platform. This allows designer and developers increased options when it comes to creating highly designed web pages.
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS TO ADD IN THIRD-PARTY WIDGETS
Adding custom code to your Squarespace page, blog, footer, or sidebar to insert third-party widgets is made simple by using the code block.
Step 1: OPEN the page in Squarespace page that you wish to insert the custom code and CLICK “edit”.
Step 2: Once the editing screen pops up, SCROLL down to where you wish to insert the custom code and CLICK the balloon on the left side. This will open the content block options.
Step 3: CLICK the “code” option.
Step 4: In the code block pop up, DELETE the placeholder text.
Step 5: INSERT your custom code and CLICK “apply”.
Step 6: CLICK “save”.
Step 7: RETURN to the editing screen to ensure that the code is working properly and that placement is correct.
